Talking about apprenticeships with academy alumnus Masud

On Wednesday, we were pleased to welcome back Masud Sharif, former MAS and Mulberry STEM Academy student, who came into school to give a talk to students about his role as an Automation Engineering Apprentice at global technology giant, Amazon. He spoke about his journey from Sixth Form to applying and securing his role there.

Masud gave really helpful insight into his day-to-day responsibilities, the studies that go alongside his work and the benefits of working at Amazon such as opportunities to travel, team-building and networking events. He also gave lots of helpful advice about the application process and the preparation, skills and determination needed to be successful in securing an apprenticeship. His tips for the interview process were really helpful and he shared some online resources for students to research the different opportunities available.

As an alumnus of Mulberry STEM Academy, Masud spoke about the valuable opportunities and work experience that he gained from the programme and how that helped him to stand out in the competitive process.

A huge thank you to Masud for inspiring our future engineers and apprentices – for sharing his experiences and advice, and answering their questions.
