Mulberry Academy Shoreditch
Sports Centre
The Sports Hall at Mulberry Academy Shoreditch is open to the public in the evenings between 6pm and 11pm and is available to book on weekends upon request and availability. Our facilities attract a diverse clientele of amateurs to professional level athletes from the local Tower Hamlets area and a variety of London sporting clubs. The centre is also home to the success of our own students, who train, compete and play together throughout the academic year.
Further Information
The local community is important and there is a strong sense of pride within the Centre. Our community tournaments are often as well attended as London-wide and occasionally nationwide competitions! The evening staff are local and integral to the centre. They all have a passion for sport – a couple of them being former Bethnal Green Hockey Champions themselves.
The centre promotes a wide range of sports and is particularly well known by volleyball clubs and leagues as the home ground for the Tower Hamlets London Lionhearts VBC. Our facilities are made good use of by the local cricket clubs and more recently, by Futsal 5-a-side teams.
The Sports Hall is home to our own Taekwondo champions. Under the instruction of team leader Master Esrar, the MAS team recently fought their way to win first place in the MAS Taekwondo Championships. Our centre was transformed into a Taekwondo arena, with children as young as 4 competing in sport sparring and Poomsae (technical forms) events.
