MAS Houses
The Mulberry Academy Shoreditch House system encourages positive self-esteem amongst students and promotes the values and ethos of the school community, providing opportunities for all students (regardless of ability) to take part in a range of activities so that they can realise their full potential.
- Collaboration One of the main strengths of the House system is giving students of all ages the opportunity to work together, creating a truly cohesive environment and ensuring that age is not a barrier to friendship and collaboration.
- Competition Often it is the competitive element of the Houses that people think of first. Students at MAS compete for the yearly House Cup and gather House points throughout the year in a series of sporting events, quizzes and activities. Competition is good – it drives our students to improve, it improves collegiality and teaches them how to fail.
- Leadership The House system allows for the promotion of student’s responsibility. The House Leaders hone their leadership skills in the role, managing not only their peers but also learning how to ‘manage up’ among the staff body. In preparation for life beyond school, our House Leaders rise to each challenge set, developing impressive time management and delegation skills.
