Biggest Cohort, Strongest Results: Mulberry Academy Shoreditch Sixth Form Celebrates Outstanding Success

Mulberry Academy Shoreditch is celebrating another year of outstanding Sixth Form success, with significant improvements in academic outcomes and progression to some of the UK’s most prestigious universities and degree courses.

With its largest-ever Year 13 cohort of 264 students, the academy has achieved its strongest post-16 outcomes despite serving a cohort with lower prior attainment than previous years. The average GCSE score on entry was 4.6, compared with 5.1 in 2025, while 53% of students are classified as disadvantaged, significantly above the national average of 12%.

The school’s commitment to inclusion and high expectations has delivered impressive results across the board. The average A Level point score increased from 25.83 to 30.21, representing an improvement of almost half a grade per student, with the average A Level grade rising to a C.

Performance improved at every grade boundary, with:

  • 10.2% achieving A to A*
  • 34.4% achieving A to B* (+7.5 percentage points)
  • 60.6% achieving A to C* (+9.4 percentage points)
  • 98.5% achieving A to E* (+6.3 percentage points)

Our A Level value-added score also improved substantially reflecting the exceptional progress students made from their starting points. There were strong outcomes across all groups, including students with SEND, demonstrating the academy’s success in ensuring every student can thrive.

Students are now progressing to an impressive range of destinations, including Russell Group universities such as UCL, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, the University of Warwick, the University of York, the University of Nottingham and the University of Exeter. Many others have secured places at leading institutions including City St George’s, University of London, SOAS, the University of Greenwich and the University of Westminster.

The breadth of degree courses secured further highlights the strength of the Sixth Form. Students will be studying highly competitive programmes including Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing and Computer Science, alongside courses in Economics, Politics, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, International Relations and the Humanities.

We are incredibly proud of this year’s cohort. Their achievements reflect the resilience, determination and ambition that define Mulberry Academy Shoreditch. These outcomes demonstrate that young people from all backgrounds can achieve exceptional success when provided with outstanding teaching, personalised support and high aspirations. We are delighted to see our students progressing to leading universities and professional pathways, and we look forward to celebrating their future successes

These results reinforce Mulberry Academy Shoreditch’s reputation as a Sixth Form where academic excellence and social mobility go hand in hand, enabling students to access ambitious futures regardless of their starting point.
