Throughout the year, students have been working with our Writer-in-Residence, Joe Marsh, to write their own inspiring poetry. Mr Marsh taught English at the academy for two years before leaving last summer to pursue a career as a playwright.  He is currently Playwright on Attachment at the Finborough Theatre in Earls Court and the academy are thrilled to have him working alongside our students once again.  During this project, students have been introduced to a wide range of poetic forms and styles as a basis for their own writing.  Most recently, Year 7s wrote some beautiful poems celebrating our common garden birds to mark International Dawn Chorus Day.  An anthology of student poetry will be released later in the year.

A collection of the students’ poems can be accessed here.
