Cycling for STEM students

Year 12 STEM Academy students, along with Ms Montgomerie, Mr Farmer, Ms Gillott and Ms Hunnisett, have been working with Peter Hodgkinson, Head of Employee Engagement at Mercedes Grand Prix Ltd to build our F24 cars. The Year 12 Stem students completed their first Greenpower race on Sunday 8th May, winning the Best Kit Car award and coming 2nd and 3rd in their category.

Peter is taking part in a bicycle race from Land’s End to John O’Groats and has decided to raise money for Mulberry Schools Trust (and Alzheimers).

Here’s what Peter said about our students and the school.

“I have worked closely with the students and teachers supporting their Green power race program. It has been a wonderful, incredibly rewarding experience and one that I am proud to be a part of. The students embrace every opportunity that is given to them and are a credit to their school. To see their hard work begin to pay off through wins on the race track, and their collective joy at this achievement is magical and something that I definitely want to see continue for many years. To help add to this fund through the Mulberry Schools Trust is vital as far as I’m concerned.”

Every pound will make a difference.
