Year 9 Trip – Oakley Adventures, Lambourne End

During half-term, 10 Year 9 students attended Oakley Adventures at Lambourne End Outdoor Activity Centre arranged by the academy’s ThinkForward coach. The students focused on the ThinkForward seven work readiness skills: self-assured, self-aware, driven, resilient, organised, receptive and good communicator and linked them to the activities that were completed on the day. All 10 students worked exceptionally hard to overcome personal barriers to enhance their understanding of the ready for work skills that ThinkForward promotes.

Students conquered the team building exercise and overcame their fears on parts of the rope obstacle course. Oakley Adventures enjoyed working with our students and want them to return for a follow up session in the New Year so they can measure their progress.

Students enjoyed themselves and shared their experience with their family and their tutors when they returned to school on Monday.
