Mulberry students enjoy Q&A with Sir Lewis Hamilton

Students from Mulberry School for Girls and Mulberry Academy Shoreditch welcomed the opportunity to ask the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Sir Lewis Hamilton, a question during a virtual Q&A session.

The video with our students was released during the same week Sir Lewis conducted a round of interviews to promote diversity in motorsport and to share the findings of a report by the Hamilton Commission, an organisation he set up to improve the representation of Black people in UK motorsport. In one interview, Sir Lewis said that helping motorsport become more diverse will be “the most valuable” thing he has achieved in his career.

“I look back at my young self and wish it was different and I want to be a part of that change. If I can change that, it would be the most valuable thing for me.”Sir Lewis Hamilton

In November 2020, the Mulberry Schools Trust and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd launched the Mulberry STEM Academy – a powerful and innovative supplementary provision for STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) education that provides a place of learning, inspiration and innovation for young people.
