Awards and prizes for MAS Stemettes
On Monday 6th November, ten Year 7 girls attended a STEM event at Fenchurch Street, organised by Stemettes. Stemettes is an award-winning social enterprise working across the UK & Ireland and beyond, to inspire and support young women into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers.
The students participated in a range of exciting tech challenges, including designing a working app to promote a music festival. They were also shown an “innovation lab” full of amazing technology that is currently being designed and produced.
Our girls worked in teams of two with another school at the event. Simra Chowdhury and her partner won the People Choice Award and Estella Strazzeri and her partner won the Judges Prize.
The MAS students were exceptional, which prompted the promoters to comment how lovely it was to meet such wonderful girls.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed the day and said that the worst part was the fact that the day had to end!
