Mulberry Academy Shoreditch named one of England’s best schools for student progress at GCSE

Mulberry Academy Shoreditch has recently received national recognition from the SSAT, an independent
membership organisation for schools for the progress that the academy students make between the
end of primary school and the completion of their GCSEs. Placing in the top 10% of schools
nationally, the academy has qualified for an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award.

Marking the latest success story in the academy’s celebrated recent history, this accolade
underlines the remarkable progress that students continue to make. As part of the awards process,
representatives from the academy have been invited to a regional celebration ceremony at Holland
Park School in London, where they will receive their award.

Sue Williamson, Chief Executive of SSAT, said: “Mulberry Academy Shoreditch should be congratulated
for their exceptional achievement. They have proved themselves to be leading the field in
improving GCSE outcomes for their students. There is so much good practice that this school could
share, and I hope they will join us at the celebration evening for the chance to network and share
strategies with award-winning schools.”

Mark Keary, Principal at Mulberry Academy Shoreditch, commented: “We are delighted to receive the
SSAT Educational Outcomes Award. Staff at Mulberry Academy Shoreditch work exceptionally hard on a
daily basis to ensure that students make excellent progress between Year 7 and Year 11.
Maintaining our position in the top 10% of schools nationally for student progress recognises that
great teachers really do change lives.”
