On Monday 6th March 2017, 30 Year 10 students from Mulberry Academy Shoreditch had the opportunity to participate in the first round of the Tower Hamlets Public Speaking competition arranged by Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership.  Six local professionals from positions in finance and business donated their time to conduct workshops to coach our students on public speaking strategies.

Each student was given the opportunity to produce a presentation by the end of the session, which they then had to deliver to the group. The students were coached on how to prepare a good presentation, as well as acquiring a boost to their listening skills and confidence.  All students took part in the initial stage of the competition and staff were extremely proud of their professionalism and engagement throughout the session. The judges struggled to decide on four finalists but eventually whittled it down to: Andrea Redhead Strickland, Siham Elmie, Divine Achogbuo and Emily De Lorenzi. They will be going forward to the semi-final on 22nd March 2017.

Well done to all students who participated in this motivating event.
