National Poetry Week Celebrations

From Monday 1^st October, students at the academy celebrated National Poetry Week.  In keeping with this year’s theme of ‘Change’, Key Stage 3 students worked together to decide what this meant to them, linking their thoughts and ideas together into a ‘Chain of Change’. Alongside activities in The Street, there were ‘Poetry by Heart’ workshops where students had the opportunity to learn and practice the art of recital. Many students also submitted an entry for the Young Writers’ ‘Poetry Escape’ competition, hoping to be in the running to win one of the £100 prizes!
