Year 11 Trip – Blood Brothers the Musical

On Monday 29^th October, Year 11 Drama students took a trip to the New Wimbledon Theatre to watch Blood Bothers the Musical by Willy Russell.  The story is a contemporary nature versus nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins Mickey and Eddie, who were separated at birth, one subsequently being raised in a wealthy family, the other in a poor family.  It is important for students to consider the characterisation, staging and music when studying the play, as well as design, context and themes to name a few!   The students were inspired by the visuals in the play and their conversations on what they saw were rich with detail, especially how they would individually play the roles.
