On Wednesday 14th March, it was a day for circles as MAS students celebrated Pi Day. Over 100 staff members throughout the academy wore arithmetic problems and the students were set the task of finding, solving and recording the solutions. Lots of number work and enthusiasm was on display and extremely good efforts put in by Year 7 students Muhammed Rammez Uddin, Hamidah Ahmed and Iyaad Islam, as well as Year 10 student Julia Gaskin. There was an amazing effort from Year 8 students Armaan Miah and Zaid Ali, who secured the win for 2018 in the number hunt. Safoan Miah, Year 8, provided the best answers to the extra questions, quite a remarkable effort for a Key Stage 3 student who has yet to study the area of circles! The Pi chocolate cake unfortunately barely made it to lunchtime!

Thank you to everyone who participated.  It was great fun all round.
