MAS Students Explore Creative Careers

This week our students have enjoyed opportunities to explore careers in the creative industries.

On Monday 18th November, 31 students from Year 10 took part in a Creative Careers day at RichMix where they got hands on experience of what it was like to be a producer, sound technician, lights technician and a performer – they also looked at what a marketing role entails.

On Wednesday 20th November, a selected group of GCSE Art and A Level Art students attended a Creative Careers Day at The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design. During the series of lectures, presented by people working in different creative industries, students’ were able to understand the dynamics of architecture, interior design, photography, graphic design – to name but a few! They also had the chance to ask questions and find out more about creative subjects in pop-up stations during the event.

“Today we learnt about different career paths in art. Some examples of these were: cinematography, film, architecture and photography. I found the lectures very inspiring and I learnt that it was important to not give up and that rejections were important. ’’ (Zaynab Younus Year 11)
