winter-fair-inviteAt the beginning of December, Mulberry Academy Shoreditch (MAS) launched its annual festival of arts, culture, learning and social action.
During the 1st to the 16th December students and staff will enjoy participating in an exhilarating programme of activities and events, beginning with the Year 11 Head to Head event, which is supported by the Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership and gives each Y11 student the opportunity to have a 30-minute interview with professionals from the world of business.

Social action continues to be a priority at the academy with WinterFest providing plenty of opportunity for students to take part in the Step Up To Serve ‘#iwill’ campaign. Our students will be running a stall at St. Hilda’s Food Co-op selling delicious produce grown and produced here at MAS. Our chutneys, jams, fresh vegetables and more will be available to buy at St Hilda’s East Community Centre from 11am on December 1st.

On Wednesday 7th, our Sixth Form drama students showcase their A Level course work during an exciting evening performance. The annual Christmas Music Concert on Thursday 8th and promises to be a tuneful treat featuring talented musicians from across the academy.

Oh yes it is! The Year 8 Pantomime performance takes place on the 13th December. That very same day, staff and students can donate £1 to our WinterFest appeal and wear their best festive jumper.

For the second year running, the WinterFest appeal will be in aid of Tower Hamlets Foodbank. Over the last few weeks we have been collecting food items and loose change for First Love Foundation, the charity that runs the Foodbank, with all money raised during our WinterFest going to the Foundation.  Our students have set themselves the target of collecting a 1000 food items and raising at least £500 to help local families in need this winter.

Our Winter Fair kicks off at 4.30pm on Wednesday 14th.  Staff, students and their families are invited to come along to take part in festivities, including; stalls, cake sales, gifts, face painting, a raffle and much more.

There is only one way to round up a jam packed two weeks of activities and that is with our festive season finale, the MAS staff pantomime on December 15th. Students are invited to come along after school to watch their teachers’ performance of Cinderella – a fun way to end the term and this year’s WinterFest.

We would like to wish all our students, staff and their families a peaceful festive season and a happy New Year!
