Ex-MAS student jumps into Gold medal place

Over the summer, former Year 11 student (2015/16) Claudimira Landim, came first in the Under 17s Triple Jump at the England Athletics National Championships.

Claudimira secured her personal best (PB) distance with an incredible jump measuring 12 metres 37 cm! Not only was it a PB for Claudimira, it was also the second longest jump in history which sees Claudimira retain her position as the number one Triple Jumper in the UK for her age group.

Before the games kicked off, Claudimira along with two other academy students, also had the opportunity to meet American track and field Olympic Champion Christian Taylor.  The meeting was organised by Adrian Binns, the academy’s ThinkForward Progression Coach.

The academy wishes Claudimira all the best in her sporting endeavours and looks forward to her visiting the academy in the future to share her achievements and inspirational journey with students.
