Introducing our Community Leaders

On Wednesday 7th November, 19 of our newly appointed Community Leaders attended their first after school session in preparation for a jam-packed year of student led activities.  They were all really enthusiastic about starting their new roles across the academy.  Here’s a round up of what some will get up to in the following weeks!

Leaders of note include Amal and Maks in Year 9.  Amal is leading on running her own book club so that she can encourage other students to find a love of reading too.  Maks will be putting his teamwork, project management and leadership skills into practice having just been appointed to the Barbican Youth Panel with a focus on arts programming and setting the ethos of the organisation.

Another inspiring leader is Mas’ud, who will continue with his stationery stall that he runs at break on Tuesdays. He will be donating all profits to charity.

We look forward to watching all our young leaders flourish, grow in confidence and fund raise for good causes, which is part of the academy’s commitment and involvement with the #iwill campaign.
