First class brilliance shines at Oxford!

On Thursday 6th February, we took our Brilliant Club Year 9 and Year 10 STEM students to the University of Oxford to graduate from the Scholars programme.

The programme gave our students the opportunity to work with a PhD researcher to experience university style learning, helping them develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to secure a place at a highly selective university.

The students’ results were phenomenal, with many achieving a First Class degree! This prompted one PhD. researcher to comment:

“I just wanted to let you know, the students on this placement have been the highest achieving I’ve had over the last 5 years. So you can be very proud of your students, they were all round intelligent, hardworking, engaged, well-mannered and showed a great culture. I would say that the learning culture the school has fostered with your students is probably the key reason they all did so well.”

William Grey, PhD., The Francis Crick Institute

Huge congratulations to all the students involved for their hard work and independence…they were simply BRILLIANT!
